Au revoir; Ich drücke die Daumen

Au revoir; Ich drücke die Daumen

A family full of Europe

A family fuelled by Europe.

Two Grandads who fought on opposing sides

In that battle that almost tore the continent apart

But instead led to a love between lands once enemies.

A German mother.

A Cypriot uncle.

Truly European family celebrations, festivals, tastes and flavours.

Me, almost trilingual and a teacher of European tongues

So committed was I to our union.

But this divorce now imposed on me against my will.

Because the will of another, stronger, triumphed.

Maybe a compromise will be found?

I live with a necessary hope.

That they are right

That I, what do I know, am wrong.

Ich liebe dich.

Je t’aime.
