When I heard you say
The words you spoke today
I felt that they were mine
As if they intertwine
With all that I hold true
And with my own world view.
Too often over here
I sit in lonely fear
For when I say the words
They simply go unheard
Or met with rolling eyes
And not as if I’m wise.
But wisdom both we share
And from a place of care
We work and sing our song
And keep our voices strong
For them.
Always them
And so, in turn
For us.
